In here you hear sirens going off constantly and radioactive food being enemies in the bunker (such as beans). During the last boss out of the four bosses, you enter a “bomb bunker” located in weapon woods. And the radioactive waves cause us to be Alive, but here comes the big twist. So some of the most mysterious questions is 1 What exactly happened to the humans? 2 Where are we? 3 What Happened to Mat & /Liz and some specifically named Humans?ġ, found through newsletters and books and papers found throughout the game it's thought that a virus outbreak happened and it ended up causing some sort of war or that an atomic bomb was detonated. We can also spot radioactive barrels during the entirety of the game in a lot of places. They later found remains of humans living and in the Mafia base, Onion writes on a note that he found that humans made governments and tried to replicate it (Why he is the Mayor). And since the green goop made acorns alive, I suspect that the “green goop” is radioactive waste which made all fruits and vegetables alive. And from my understanding, the reason why fruits and vegetables etc are alive is because of a nuke that happened because of a virus outbreak (There is a newsletter in the bomb bunker which tells us what happened the virus outbreak). (If you collected all and destroyed all government documents during your playthrough he would activate the nuke and later become Onion God and you go and defeat a secret boss), both endings end with you ripping the deed to your greenhouse But during the game, there are a lot of mysterious things that happen and the game has hidden quite a bit of lore behind everything. You complete some more puzzles and later go on and defeat Mayor Onion which has become Corrupt Onion with all the items you delivered to him. At the bottom of their base lies a nuke, their old offices and some diaries and text. You later go into their old Mafia base which was directly beneath your greenhouse (hence why Mayor Onion wanted the land). And then Onion became greedy and they had different opinions and it ended up with Onion as the Mayor and enforcing tax. They were from the start just a mafia that had wealth, weapons, everything. You talk to an old lemon and he gives you some background on why Mayor Onion is the mayor and why your dad died. He decides to jebait you and lock himself inside the greenhouse you were trying to get back.
After you’ve defeated all four bosses and delivered all the items to Mayor Onion. You get all of these items by defeating a boss and completing small puzzles before each one of them. First one being a fertilizer that grows you bigger, Second being a fork (just a normal fork), Third one being a green goop which creates life around you (such as acorns etc), and the last is a laser pointer. So first off, let's add some background so the theories makes sense - You start off the game with ripping a tax document and committing tax evasion and talk with Mayor Onion (this character is gonna be really important later), you become his personal assistant and have to collect different items and deliver them to him.
